A Second Home, a New Chapter: Manuel’s Racemax² ITALIA
On the top tube of Manuel’s Racemax² ITALIA, Girona’s crest stands out in gold against exposed carbon. It is a small detail with a personal meaning: a tribute to the city he considers his second home.
Manuel travels from Mexico to Girona to ride, returning for its roads and trails, its cycling culture and the people he meets along the way. For him, a bicycle becomes part of those experiences. It carries memories of places, friendships and time spent riding with the people closest to him.
His latest 3T brings that connection into the frame itself.
A relationship built over time
Manuel’s relationship with 3T began long before this project. A lifelong enthusiast of the brand, he already owned a 60th Anniversary Racemax Italia, an edition that marked an early chapter in our Italian frame production.
In the film, he describes 3T as the brand that introduced him to gravel. His connection to it is emotional, shaped by the confidence and enjoyment he found on the bike.
The Racemax² ITALIA continues that story. With a custom paint finish created by Velodrom Odeon, it brings together our Italian manufacturing and a personal tribute to Girona.
Inside Velodrom Odeon
The setting for the build has a story of its own.
In Girona’s Barri Vell, on Pujada de Sant Domènec, Velodrom Odeon occupies a restored nineteenth-century theatre. Its painted walls, balconies and open interior give the space a character that remains unmistakably theatrical.
The restoration recovered that character while preparing the building for a new use. Historic architectural details sit alongside contemporary displays, with bicycles and cycling clothing now occupying a place once dedicated to performance and gathering.
That social purpose continues. Velodrom describes Odeon as a place to meet, discover and share in Girona’s cycling community. For a rider who returns to the city as much for its people as for its riding, it is a fitting setting for this new chapter.
Girona, in the details
The custom finish rewards a closer look. Carbon remains visible across the frame, while gold accents pick out the 3T graphics, fork tips and rear dropouts. Girona’s crest gives the design its clearest connection to the city.
Photographed against the theatre’s painted walls, those colours find a visual echo in their surroundings.
The film follows the assembly through the hands of the Velodrom team, alongside Manuel’s reflections on riding and belonging. The photographs offer time to pause over the work: the texture of the finish, the frame’s contours and the details that distinguish this particular bike.
The next chapter is out on the road
For Manuel, every bicycle represents another chapter: new places to discover, people to meet and experiences to share.
His Racemax² ITALIA carries a reminder of Girona into those future rides. Made in Italy, personalised by Velodrom Odeon and connected to a rider from Mexico, it brings several places together in one very personal bicycle.
