eExtrema ITALIA
The e-Extrema: Built for the Most Extreme Adventures. Made in Italy.
Designed for the toughest terrains and most demanding
conditions, the e-Extrema combines aerodynamic efficiency with full
compatibility for a wireless dropper seatpost and clearance for tires
up to 700x57c.
If you’re looking for an e-bike that can go anywhere—up steep climbs, across
rugged trails, and beyond—the e-Extrema is your ultimate choice.
We started with the exact same Made in Italy carbon frame as the non-electric Extrema, engineered with 3T’s proprietary Filament Winding + RTM technology.
Its aerodynamic design keeps speeds high on both road and off-road. With a slightly more upright geometry than the e-Racemax and the Mahle X20 rear hub motor, the e-Extrema excels when the terrain gets rough and technical.
Running WAM 29"/700c tires (47–57mm) gives you maximum traction,
control, and puncture resistance—perfect for handling the extra power of the motor.
Integrated cables via MORE system, wireless dropper compatibility, and
fork mounts make this bike unstoppable for extreme adventures and bikepacking.
Built to perform on the steepest gradients
and the most challenging surfaces, the e-Extrema is the most versatile
e-bike in the 3T lineup.
Lightweight, agile, and ready for adventure—with the added boost of electric
power.
All electronics, cables, and batteries are housed inside the downtube—no bulky profiles or unsightly external modifications. The Mahle X20 rear hub motor preserves the original geometry and delivers an unmatched natural ride feel.
The e-Extrema features a hand-built carbon frame made in Italy with 3T’s proprietary technologies and an impressively low weight.
Equipped with the Mahle X20 motor customized for 3T, delivering 65Nm
torque, paired with a 350Wh battery for smooth, progressive power.
The Mahle system offers Bluetooth & ANT+ connectivity, Garmin compatibility, three preset power modes, and a fully customizable fourth
mode via the MySmartBike app.
With smart power management, you can easily achieve 150+ km range and 2000 m elevation gain*.
Need more autonomy? Add the optional 173Wh range extender (1.1 kg)
mounted in the bottle cage for +50% extra range.
*Average for a rider under 75 kg on mixed gravel/asphalt routes, EU speed limit
of 25 km/h.
To build an extreme aero-gravel bike that can go anywhere, start with tire size. Tire choice determines comfort, grip, and how airflow interacts with the frame.
The key metric is WAM (Width-As-Measured)—the actual measured tire
width—because it directly impacts traction, puncture resistance, aerodynamics, and rolling resistance.
Choose your WAM based on:
Starting from our favorite tires and allowing space for knobs and mud, we designed the rear wheel cutout as close as possible to the seat tube and a large downtube to guide airflow from the front wheel.
We engineered a head tube that accommodates a robust fork steerer,
aero-optimized seat stays, and bottle placement sheltered from the wind.
Most importantly, we designed everything for real-world speed—considering crosswinds, tire width, bottles, accessories, and even mud. The e-Extrema is fast and efficient where it matters: on the trail, not just in a wind
tunnel.

Upper downtube necks down to 60mm to pick up the airflow coming off the front tire.
Lower downtube aero profile is 75mm wide to fully shield water bottle.
Reduced depth on smaller sizes to keep frame compliant and keep space for bottles.
Close-fitting cutout to shield the rear wheel and achieve the most speed.
No oversized gaps between front tire & downtube for better airflow transition and less turbulence.
Clearance for up to 57mm WAM (29”/700c)!
Fork crown shapes haven’t changed much since brakes were attached there. Now that we have disc brakes, we don’t need that bulk of material and can reshape the crown for better strength, stiffness and weight. Plus better aerodynamics.
Equipe your Extrema for adventure using the three accessory mount rivets on either side of the fork for an anything cage.
Dropping the drive-side chainstay improves tire & crank clearance. Dropping the other side as well creates a much more efficient structure behind the BB for higher stiffness & strength as well as lower weight.
Most of our complete bikes come with threaded BBs for the best alignment and to avoid any issues. Yet we avoid gluing threaded alloy rings into the carbon (added weight, complexity and debonding risk). Read more here.
Standard frames require an adaptor to use a 160mm brake rotor. We have integrated that into the frame, meaning you don’t need any extra pieces to attach the brake.
Standard forks require a flip-flop adaptor to set the correct brake rotor size. Our direct-mount pre-sets the caliper for 160mm rotors without any extra pieces.
Designed specifically for the 3T MORE INTEGRALE.

The seat tube is kept aero yet it fits a round 27.2mm seatpost so you have many round, wireless dropper or suspension post options.
Designed solely for electronic groupsets. Thanks to its UDH rear derailleur hanger, it is compatible with all regular rear derailleurs as well as the new SRAM Eagle Transmission rear derailleurs that feature a hangerless direct-mount design.
