When you think about Bangkok, its probably not ‘great cycling’ what comes first to your mind. BKK is the crowded capital of Thailand with more than 8 million inhabitants. But cycling has gone through a tremendous growth in this country, as more Thai discover the fun of cycling.
This month a new cycling park opened near the BKK airport called SkyeLaneThailand. Sky Lane Thailand is located in Nong Prue, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan 10540 with operating hours between 0600-2400. The project boasts 2 state-of-the-art cycling tracks with a 1.6 kilometers training track and the main track stretching 23.5 kilometers surrounding the Suvarnabhumi airport. Both tracks are fully lit by solar powered lights for night time cycling.
Excluding the main 23.5 kilometer track, the area covering the Happy and Healthy Bike Lane (the official name of SkyeLaneThailand) is approximately 250,000 sqm, with a large area assigned for shops, food stores, bike rental etc.
My friend Kris, the owner of our Thai partner Central Bike, opened a location at SkyeLaneThailand: you can try the Strada and Exploro here, have a bike fit with 3T parts, or have a look at the super light parts of THM.
So when you live in BKK or plan to visit the city soon, bring your pedals and give the Strada or Exploro a try!
Thanks Kris for joining SkyLaneThailand and to make the Strada and Exploro available for test rides!
